In keeping with our mission to foster independent learning and transferable skills, Learning Services provides support for students seeking to strengthen their academic skills. This support is offered individually and can focus on any relevant issue identified by the student or through a diagnostic inventory. Study Skills consultations are offered by appointment only.

Study Skills consultations are student led, so the session will focus on the specific skill the student wishes to improve. The student may also opt to take the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) to pinpoint areas of strength and weakness in the study skills arena.
Some areas that may be covered with a study skills tutor are:
- test-taking
- note-taking
- learning preferences
- time management
- test anxiety
- motivation
- concentration
- memory
All study skills assistance is free and available to any UNCW student at any level.
