The steering committee is composed of staff and students who work closely with students. Our goal is to provide the students with a variety of activities to keep them entertained on the weekends. Here are the members of the committee who are committed to making a difference:
Lindsey Cooper, Housing and Residence Life
Lindsey is the Residence Coordinator of Galloway and she is the Co-Advisor to RHA. She is originally from Sacramento, CA and she graduated from UCSB in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in History and Art History. She later graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 with her master of arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs. She joined the committee because she loves programming for students. She also enjoy learning about what great opportunities there are for students on the UNCW campus!
Jon Kapell, Campus Activities & Involvement
Jon is the Associate Director of Campus Activities & Involvement at UNCW. He graduated from West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. He went on to get his master of arts degree in Human Services Administration from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He is a part of this committee because he feels that a healthy university offers programs on the weekends just as much on the weekdays. He also enjoys working with the committee to plan and implement fun and innovative programs for the students at UNCW.

Stephanie Dickey: Lead Faciliator
Stephanie is a junior majoring in Nursing. I joined UNCWeekends because there was this crazy guy named Jon standing out in front of the Fisher University Union and I talked to him for 10 minutes about UNCWeekends while I was waiting to get my bike lock cut off. He asked me to come to the interest meeting about UNCWeekends and I did. I also wanted to help program the events that I had gone to my freshman year and make it enjoyable for everyone else.
Christopher Flow: Marketing Chair
Christopher "Flow" Flow is a credit hour senior in his third year at UNCW majoring in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. He joined UNCWeekends to continue programming on campus. His first year, he was involved with RHA and wanted to continue in planning exciting social events for students. UNCWeekends is the perfect place to plan unique programs for programs and have fun doing so. There is never a dull moment with the UNCWeekends team (especially Jon). I also was told to go to the interest meeting by Steph...peer pressure.
Caitlyn Gregorius: Co-Chair of Programming
Caitlyn is a freshmen majoring in Social Work. She thought it would be a great experience to get involved with UNCW as this committee actually comes up with events for UNCW students. Plus the director (Jon) is my brother's boss so in a way I didn't really have a choice :p. (Note to the reader...Jon is not actually her brother's boss, but don't let him know that. He works much better when he thinks Jon is in charge...JK!)
Liz Zecca: Chair of External Relations
Liz is a Sophomore majoring in Chemistry. She joined UNCWeekends because she lives out of state (New York) and stays on campus on the weekends. Liz loved going to all the programs last year and she feels it is a great way to get involved on campus and meet new people.
