About Us
Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Social Work is entirely compatible with the mission and purposes of the University as a whole and is well adapted to the specific educational and service needs of its region. The School is dedicated to a course of study and professional preparation that considers the problems, policies, programs, and methods specific to social welfare and social work. The baccalaureate program of the School is primarily concerned with the preparation of entry level, generalist social work practicioners, while the MSW graduate prgram prepares advanced clinical practitioners with a firm foundation in generalist practice. The School's purpose is consistent with the purposes, values, and ethics of professional social work and is committed to the disciplined use of a recongnized body of knowledge that informs social work practice and contributes to the development of social resources that will enhance the well-being of persons and society.
Program Accreditation
The School of Social Work baccalaureate and master programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
