Greetings from New York City where it is still cool and grey although we have seen some buds appearing on the trees lately! I have heard wonderful things about how well the program is going and I am excited to see the results of our elections. Congratulations to Tyler Shumate and all the other Fellows who will serve as our leadership team for the 2008-2009 year. I also enjoyed being in touch with you about fall schedules and look forward to my return. I would like to give a big thanks to Zack Grant for the amazing work he has done for our program as President. He has been an outstanding spokesman for us at all levels and has moved us forward toward great success. I am proud of him and he will truly be missed in the office! Many thanks to James Jones for his outstanding work as our Student Government Association Liaison. His efforts have brought our program great recognition and financial support. We are on very solid ground as a student organization because of James' efforts. I would also like to thank the following co-chairs and class representatives for the wonderful programs and events they have sponsored throughout the year, making our TF program one of the best ever: Jennifer Rausch, Sarah Payne, Brittany Matthews, Lindsay Watkins, Jacqui Dalessio, Carie Williamson, Ivy McCreary, Matt Morris, Maryanne Garris, Tana Sisler, Jessica Marva, Breana van Velzen, Caroline Medford, Shannon Owens, Lauren Bailey, Madison Horeth, Melody Wells, Lauren Abernethy, and Hayley Fields. A big hug and thanks to Amy Rottmann and Lesley Bingham who have kept the dream alive (and day-to-day operations running smoothly). It has been a challenging semester but successful because of their outstanding efforts. It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end of another year where we say goodbye to our seniors and welcome a new set of freshmen to our family. I will see you at the Closing Meeting on April 29 .... can't wait! News & Information We ask, request, beg, threaten and demand that you check your UNCW email account regularly!! To my "Fellow" Fellows, As I write this correspondence to all of you, I write with a heavy heart. As each day comes and goes I begin to realize how soon my time as your President will end. In the midst of reflecting over my tenure, I must applaud the successes of our program. I believe that we have accomplished much in our time together. Never have our Fellows been more involved in the Teaching Fellows program at UNCW. I do believe that the attendance/event requirements begun this year have made great differences. It is my hope that in the coming years our involvement on both the campus and in the Wilmington area will significantly increase. I have been truly blessed to serve as your leader. I have learned much from all of you. Now it is with my distinct honor that I pass the torch to Tyler Shumate, our new president. I am excited for the future as Tyler takes the helm. He has many great ideas and he has a great passion for our program. Please treat him as well as you have treated me. Well, I wish all of you the very best on exams and I hope everyone has a great summer! Your friend, What's Going on in Wilmington? Campus Activities Events Calendar |
