Welcome to another Teaching Fellows year!!  I was so excited to see all the Fellows at the Opening Meeting where we were greeted by Chancellor DePaolo.  The new seniors look ready for a final year of classes and student internships while the new freshmen looked ready to start their journey as part of the UNCW TF family.  In the middle are the juniors who looked quite mature after a summer of enrichments and conferences and the sophomores, a group that has a number of leaders emerging to help direct our program into a new phase of student ownership.

We welcome back Amy Rottmann as our Assistant Director and Lesley Bingham as our new Office Assistant.  President Zack Grant continues to make us laugh in the office and we are delighted to have Dr. Hank Weddington return as the Junior Seminar instructor.  All in all, it looks like a very promising year ahead.  Don't forget that I'm here, as always, with candy and Kleenex!!

See you in class,
KB

Chancellor

Chancellor DePaolo welcomes the Teaching Fellows back to UNCW at the Opening Meeting

Hello all,

Well, it seems like yesterday that I was writing all of you, wishing you a safe summer!!!!  Where did the time go????  Despite the fact that summer was too short, I am glad to be back in the Teaching Fellows office.  This year is sure to be a defining year for Teaching Fellows here at UNCW.  We have 153 Fellows, the most in UNCW's history, all with diverse talents and keen insights.  Our freshmen class has moved into Schwartz Hall to begin their educational journey and we have seniors who are currently student-teaching in surrounding counties.  The council will be working diligently to meet your needs this year, with increased quality programs and opportunities.  Please let me know how I can be of service because, as President, my number one goal is to be available to all Fellows.  I wish all of you the very best as we strive to build our program here at UNCW through strengthening our relationships with each other and with the community at large.

                                        -Zack Grant
