Driving directions to Wilmington, NC:
Since Wilmington is at the southernmost range of the chapter, everyone attending should be coming into town from the north (if anyone would like directions from the south, please contact Fred Scharf). There are two basic routes that end up in southeastern NC from points north; 1) heading east on interstate 40 after having taken I-95 south or 2) following local highways in eastern NC that connect to US-17, which extends along the coast and down into Wilmington.
If you are coming into town on I-40, the easiest way downtown is to take a right at the second traffic light after the interstate ends onto the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway. The MLK Parkway ends in downtown and simply becomes 3rd Street. Follow 3rd Street and make a right onto Grace St. Take Grace St. to the end (it ends at Water St.) and the Hilton will be directly in front of you.
If you are coming into town by following US-17 down the NC coast, you can simply continue on US-17, which turns into Market St. If you follow Market St., it will dead end at Water St. Make a right turn and the Hilton will be down a few blocks on the left. Alternatively, you can also turn right onto the MLK Parkway from Market St. and follow the directions above.
