Start your self-guided tour by viewing the introductory movie in the auditorium. Follow the arrows and enjoy climbing ladders to explore parts of 9 levels.  Make sure to bring your camera. The ship is not air-conditioned. The average tour is about 2 hours. The ship is yours for the day! Tickets are good for one-time use during the following hours:

Harbor Island Sunset Kayaking SOLD OUT

Begin the weekend with a leisurely kayak tour of Harbor Island as the sun goes down. We’ll start out with a brief kayaking lesson (no experience necessary!) and then paddle the Intracoastal Waterway, before traveling along salt marshes by waterfront homes. You don’t need to have kayaked before to sign up, but should have basic swimming ability. All participants must be 16 years-old or older.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Banks Channel

Join Seahawk Adventures as we take a stand up paddleboarding (SUP) tour of Banks Channel (located between Harbor Island and Wrightsville Beach). After a short SUP lesson, we’ll paddle by waterfront homes and sailboats, before enjoying a bit of peace and tranquility as we paddle through a salt marsh and keep an eye out for dolphins. You don’t need to have paddleboarded before to sign up, but should have basic swimming ability. All participants must be 16 years-old or older.

The Doctor in Spite of Himself by Molière

Translation by Arnie Zaslove and Directed by Anne Berkeley

Molière’s classic satirical farce, The Doctor in Spite of Himself was written in 1666, but we are producing a new translation written in 2013. In the play, an angry wife plays a trick on her husband, a peasant woodcutter, by tricking two hefty servants to violently persuade him that he is a brilliant doctor. He performs miraculous cures as he carries out Molière's scalpel sharp satire of the medical profession.

Family and Alumni Weekend Service Project

Many children and young adults with disabilities cannot participate in organized team sports such as baseball due to a lack of accessible and safe facilities. The Miracle League of Wilmington provides a space that is safe and accessible for those who use wheelchairs/walkers and promotes physical activity, camaraderie, a sense of teamwork, and fun for all – team members, volunteers, family, and spectators!

Come out and help with set-up/tear down, being a player “buddy” during the game, or just cheer on the athletes as they compete!

The Brunswick River is a calm inlet that feeds into the Cape Fear River and holds lots of undeveloped scenery (even though it’s just across the bridge from downtown Wilmington). Join Seahawk Adventures for a relaxing kayak trip across the Brunswick River and along the marsh and tree-lined shorefront that make up this area. You don’t need to have kayaked before to sign up, but should have basic swimming ability. All participants must be 16 years-old or older.

UNCW  CREST Research Park Tour SOLD OUT

Shuttle vans will take guests to visit this research campus located 7 miles from the main UNCW campus, on the Intracoastal Waterway.  Recognized as a national site for conducting research that contributes to understanding environmental processes and problems, you will tour the Marbionic (Marine Biotechnology North Carolina), Shellfish Research Hatchery and Center for Marine Sciences facilities.  Over 100 staff and students use these facilities daily for cutting-edge scientific research. Areas of expertise include marine biotechnology, marine biology, biodiversity, oceanography, harmful algal studies, coastal monitoring, coastal ecology, estuarine and river ecology, coral reef ecology, fisheries biology and marine mammals.   Please keep in mind that these are research facilities, typically considered more functional than “showy.”

Seahawks join fellow students, families, and alumni to compete in an urban dare race on UNCW’s campus! In this race smarts can beat speed. The race includes part trivia, photo hunt and part mental and physical challenges, but all fun. You’ll work in teams of 2 or 3 to solve a set of UNCW clues to find checkpoints where you must take a photo or perform a dare in order to finish the race. You may use your smart phones to help you solve the clues and figure out the best order to complete them in. The winner will win a UNCW apparel prize pack! Registration fee covers race number, t-shirt, and all proceeds go to the UNCW Student Ambassador Organization.

The Doctor in Spite of Himself by Molière

Translation by Arnie Zaslove and Directed by Anne Berkeley

Molière’s classic satirical farce, The Doctor in Spite of Himself was written in 1666, but we are producing a new translation written in 2013. In the play, an angry wife plays a trick on her husband, a peasant woodcutter, by tricking two hefty servants to violently persuade him that he is a brilliant doctor. He performs miraculous cures as he carries out Molière's scalpel sharp satire of the medical profession.
