Health insurance is required for all UNCW students in order to enroll for classes. This may be insurance that students bring with them (family, employer, etc.), insurance they purchase through the school, or a combination of both plans. The Student Health Insurance Plan is provided through Student Blue, a product of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
As in past years, all students will need to go online and either enroll in the insurance plan or complete a waiver by showing proof of other insurance coverage. The enrollment/waiver system is available at www.bcbsnc.com/uncw. There are two steps, first students must register and create an account and then complete either the waiver or enrollment process. Students must complete the process each semester they are a student.
We are encouraging students to complete their waiver by July 1st so that the charge will never show up on their tuition bill.
All students are required to turn in the Immunization & Medical History Form to the Student Health Center. North Carolina requires all students to be in compliance with the immunization requirements or their registrations will be dropped. In order to avoid standing in line, please submit completed forms prior to attending Orientation. Student Health Center staff will be at check-in to assist you. The form is available on-line at www.uncw.edu/healthservices/shc_records.htm.
Your UNCW One Card allows the use of campus facilities, and provides safe, easy access to university services and events. With your valid One Card, you can check out materials at Randall Library, access meal plans or food dollars at campus dining locations, ride the Seahawk Shuttle and WAVE transit buses FREE, and much more!
AVOID WAITING IN LONG LINES DURING ORIENTATION TO GET YOUR UNCW ONE CARD. Upload your favorite photo for your card on the One Card submission page.
