Seahawk Links Guide Local Middle School Scholars on UNCW Campus Tours

Convocation and All-Campus Lunch

August 19 at 10 a.m.

Convocation is UNCW’s official academic welcome for the Class of 2015.  Students have the chance to meet their Seahawk Link for the first time at Convocation.  Freshmen also participate in the unveiling of the Class of 2015 flag and their first “Trask Trek.”  Please join us for this great tradition at UNCW!  Don’t forget to wear your Orientation shirt or another favorite teal shirt for the official class picture to be taken during the event.

Tie Dye with the Seahawk Links

August 19 at 1 p.m. at the Campus Amphitheater

Join the Seahawk Links at the Campus Amphitheater for music, fun and tie dying.  Bring your own item or use one of the free t-shirts available on-site.

Fireworks Extravaganza

August 21 at 7 p.m. at the Gazebo Recreation Area

Come celebrate the first day of classes Seahawk style! Meet your Seahawk Link and listen to live music played by We Shot the Moon. Grab a seat on the lawn to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display starting at 9 p.m. Bring a water bottle or reusable cup and enjoy purified water from the Blue Green Machine. Sponsored by ACE Concerts, Housing and Residence Life, Residence Hall Association and Transition Programs.

In the event of rain, the fireworks will be cancelled and the concert and refreshments will be moved to the Warwick Center Ballroom.
