Agency Airfare

InTravel LogoUNCW has contracts with four travel agencies to make airfare arrangements that are directly billed to the university. This is the only way to have the airfare prepaid for an employee, student group, non-employee (prospective candidate), and student employees. The four travel agencies are Maupin Travel, Travel Consultants, Travel Divas and TMP Sports (Athletics Only).

If the airfare is for an Employee, Student Employee, Student (not on payroll) or Student Group you will need to have a travel authorization created and approved in E-Travel. Enter the airfare for the Employee or Student Employee under Pre-Paid Agency Airfare. If this is for a Student Group then you would only enter the Faculty/Staff member's airfare under PrePaid Airfare Agency and the rest of the group you would send an email to the Travel Office with the student names, travel dates, travel authorization number, dollar amount, fund and a copy of the itinerary. For Non-Employees you will need to complete a paper travel authorization form and walk the form and a copy of the itinerary over to the Travel Office. Please hand the authorization to one of the Travel Staff, please do not put it in the office mail box. Maupin Travel

Maupin Travel logoMaupin Travel is one of the largest and most respected agencies in the Carolinas and has been in business since 1979.   We have serviced the travel needs of UNCW since 2008 and UNC's main campus in Chapel Hill since 2004 and have achieved the distinction of the most widely-used agency out of their four preferred travel companies. 

Through Maupin Travel, you have your choice of booking your travel on a customized online booking tool or through one of our friendly and experienced travel consultants. 

Maupin Travel is an affiliate of BCD Travel, the third largest travel consortium in the world.  This affiliation allows Maupin Travel to provide the UNCW community the very best in technology, service and savings. 

In addition to corporate travel specialists, we also have destination specialists for Spain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Disney, and the Caribbean, to name a few.  We also are one of only 50 agencies in North America who are selling space travel aboard Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Space Shuttle which was launched in late 2010.

Maupin Travel also has a dedicated group, meeting and incentive department that specializes in everything from air-only travel to turnkey meeting and logistics management. Maupin Travel is also a certified vendor through the General Services Administration (GSA) as a veteran-owned agency in the event you are required to use such an agency for any federal monies you may have received.

 

Travel Consultants

Established in 1982, Travel Consultants has continued to cultivate long associations with our clients providing all aspects of travel, including group and incentive travel.  Travel Consultants is a HUB recognized corporation, certified by the State of North Carolina.  All agents are experienced in both domestic and international travel with average experience of 29 years.  UNC-W will enjoy customized service on a daily basis.  The agency offers personal attention and $100,000 of flight insurance on each ticket purchased. Travel Consultants also has language interpreter service in place and offers assistance with passports/visas and lost luggage.

 

Travel Divas

I have been an agent in Wilmington for 28 years, since opening Allen Travel with my husband Vic in 1984.  I have enjoyed many wonderful years of working with UNCW travelers, and am happy to be able to do so under my company's new name, Travel Divas.  (I share the premises here at Landfall Center with The Traveler Store, Vic's luggage and travel accessory store.)  My parent company, Travel Experts, is located in Raleigh and is a major agency, with Virtuoso designation.  Through my association with them, I am able to offer superior travel assistance to individuals and groups.  Please realize that my hours are limited (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday), but I will return emails and phone calls promptly.  I look forward to working with you!
