How do I find what courses might transfer to UNCW?
You will want to take courses that are a match for respective UNCW equivalents. To find a list of the courses that are equivalent to UNCW courses, please go to http://appserv02.uncw.edu/dasapps/transfer_articulation/transferArt.aspx , to locate the college/university you plan to attend. Should you have a course that you do not find at the link, please send that course name and number (example: BIO 101) as well as the course description to the Registrar’s Office “Click Here” option, so that they can research that for you. With transfer courses being evaluated for equivalency prior to you taking them in the fall, every effort is made to help you with planning for your UNCW academic goals. Only after courses from another college/university are completed, and the official transcript of the grades received in the UNCW Registrar’s Office, will an exact evaluation of transfer credit be possible. (See the UNCW Undergraduate Catalogue 2009-2010, at http://www.uncw.edu/catalogue/ .)
After you complete courses at another college/university, be sure to have that college/university send an official copy of your transcript to the UNCW Registrar's Office, 601 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403-5618, as well as bring a copy with you to the January Orientation academic advising/course registration session.
How do I know if I am taking the right courses at another college/university?
Based on the Basic Studies and pre-major requirements (see answers to related questions above/below), you will be able to select courses for transfer that will fit with your UNCW academic goals. To allow UNCW an opportunity to review how the other college/university courses would translate to UNCW courses, you will need to complete/submit the electronic form, per instructions, including course descriptions, which you can access at: course transfer form/instructions.
