About Advancement

Current Fundraising Priorities

Merit Scholarships
The exceptional education available at UNCW attracts talented students from across North Carolina and the nation. Yet truly gifted scholars often choose to attend other leading institutions because UNCW offers very few merit scholarships to first-year students. To learn more about the benefits of establishing a merit scholarship at UNCW, please contact the University Advancement office at (910) 962-3751.

Naming Opportunities
The UNCW campus is quickly growing with new construction and renovation projects, such as a new Computer Information Systems building, a new Cultural Arts building, the Fisher Student Center, renovation of the University Union and expansion of the Center for Marine Science. These projects offer donors special opportunities to establish a permanent connection with UNCW by naming buildings, rooms and common areas. For more information about naming opportunities at UNCW, please contact the University Advancement office at (910) 962-3751.

Annual Giving
Annual Giving contributions – particularly those designated as unrestricted – provide the university with invaluable support for a multitude of programs and services. To learn more about the power of your gift to the UNCW Annual Giving Program, contact Director of Annual Giving Janell J. Johnson at (910) 962-2661.
