Kimberli Alphin ’04 Wins UNCW Homecoming Package

Kimberli Alphin of Kinston, N.C., scored a UNCW Homecoming package in the “Nothing but ‘Net” contest sponsored by the Office of Annual Giving.
Nearly 900 alumni registered online to win the package that includes two tickets to the Feb. 9 Homecoming Tealgate sponsored by the Alumni Association, two tickets to the men’s basketball game against the James Madison Dukes, a two-night stay at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside, two tickets to tour an historic house in downtown Wilmington and dinner for two at the Oceanic in Wrightsville Beach. Entries were accepted mid-December through mid-January.
Alphin, a sixth-grade teacher at Frink Middle School in Lenior County, graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the Watson School of Education. She has fond memories of the Homecoming events she attended as a student.
“I loved going to basketball games, especially Homecoming,” she said. “I had a friend on court every year and enjoyed going to games to support them.”
While at UNCW, Alphin actively participated in the Student Government Association, the College Republicans and the UNCW chapter of Phi Sigma Pi, a national honor fraternity that emphasizes scholarship, leadership and fellowship.
“Campus involvement kept me busy and made me a lifelong member of the UNCW community through Phi Sigma Pi. I still keep up with the organization, and I enjoy alumni events. I am so excited about attending Homecoming this year to support the Seahawks!”
Take your online game to the next level and use the (Inter)net to join Alphin in supporting UNCW.
