University Studies Requirements

University College provides continually updated information on University Studies requirements by catalogue year and course availability. You can also find helpful advising worksheets tailor-made for your major and minor by catalogue year on the University College page.

Nursing students can consult the School of Nursing Student Handbook for advising information.

Students enrolled in the Cameron School of Business can consult CSB’s Student Services for advising information.

Students enrolled in the Watson College of Education can consult WCE’s Academic Advising page for advising information.

Information about Thematic Transdisciplinary Clusters

Students can declare their Thematic Transdisciplinary Cluster at any time in their academic career. You can learn more about current Thematic Clusters here.

Transfer Student Requirements, Course Substitutions, and Waivers

Transfer students’ University Studies requirements vary based on their previous institution.

Students interested in having transfer courses count for University Studies requirements should work with their advisors to prepare substitution/waiver forms. Use these forms when requesting the fulfillment of the following University Studies requirements except Writing Intensive and Information Literacy.

Students interested in petitioning to have a previously taken course count for a portion of the Writing Intensive or Information Literacy requirements should work with their advisor to prepare this form.
