| UNCW Legal Help FREE legal consultation with an attorney available for all students EVERY Wednesday from 1:00-5:00pm in the Campus Activites and Involvement Center Room 2029 within the Fisher Student Center.
The Office of the General Counsel does not represent or advise individual faculty members, staff or students about personal legal matters. Pamphlets can be obtained from the North Carolina Bar Association addressing a variety of legal issues of a personal nature, including one on how to find a lawyer. Individuals may also contact the Lawyer Referral Service of the North Carolina Bar Association (800-662-7660) for a referral to a lawyer in your area. Eligible individuals may qualify for the free services of Legal Aid of NC for civil matters; in Wilmington, they are located at 201 North Front Street, Suite 1002 (910-763-6207 or 800-672-9304) Legal Resources NC Sex Offender & Public Protection Registry UNCW Policies Family & Medical Leave Policies (UNCW) Faculty members utilizing the salary continuation policy, with the guaranteed 90 days of paid leave, will have their tenure “clocks” or post-tenure review “clocks” stopped for one year (faculty members may either modify or decline this default). This paid leave and postponement apply in the case of eligible parental leave, family leave, or medical leave situations.
