Emily Smith teaches courses in book design and publishing arts and directs the department's book imprint, the Publishing Laboratory. While earning her MFA from UNCW, she designed the inaugural cover and page layout for the literary journal Ecotone. She has worked as a freelance editor and book designer, most recently for the Hub City Writers Project.
