BFA Certificate in Publishing
Application Process

Students seeking to enroll in the publishing certificate program must have demonstrated their talent and dedication by

  1. completing one of the introductory courses in publishing (CRW 321 or 322) with a minimum grade of B (not B-). In order to successfully complete the Certificate in Publishing, students must earn a grade of B or higher in both introductory courses, CRW 321 and 322.
  2. maintaining an overall grade point average of 2.75.

Once the above criteria have been met, students must submit

  1. a successful application
  2. a 500-word statement of interest for review by the faculty

Application deadlines: January 31 and September 15, no later than 5 p.m.
(If those dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the first class day immediately afterward.) Late applications will not be accepted. Deliver one paper copy of your application and statement to the office of Emily Smith, Director of The Publishing Laboratory, Suite 1105, Kenan Hall, UNCW.
