For the past five years, the WSRC has been actively partnering with the both the Wilmington Branch and National Office of the American Association of University Women. We are proud of this ongoing collaboration which has grown to include professional student workshops such as $tart $mart, wage negotiation workshop for pay equity, and Elect Her: Campus Women Win, and student scholarships. AAUW also supports the students of these workshops by offering an annual scholarship for one student to travel and participate in AAUW’s National Conference for College Women Student Leaders. In addition to this opportunity, our annual Elect Her student liaison is awarded a scholarship from AAUW-National to cover the conference fees and travel. Our campus, through the WSRC, has also benefited from AAUW Campus Action Awards-making Title IX educational programming possible. Since 2009, UNCW has sent at least 8 students to NCCWSL and reached over 300 students professional workshops. Please contact the director of the WSRC to learn more about this student and faculty opportunities through AAUW.
