
Finley O'Connell
Finley O'Connell is a junior majoring in Special Education on the Adapted Curriculum track. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, she has been passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since high school, where she mentored students through school and community programs. Now in her second year with the Inclusive Futures Program and serving as an Educational Coach, Finley is excited to continue supporting students while mentoring peer mentors. She is grateful for the hands-on experiences IFP has provided and plans to use the skills she has gained in advocacy, collaboration, and individualized support throughout her future career as a special education teacher.

Payton Loden
Payton is currently a senior in the Exercise Science program at UNCW, with minors in Applied Behavior Analysis and Psychology. She joined the IFP team last year as a Peer Mentor and is excited to be returning this year as an Educational Coach. Payton discovered her passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities nearly ten years ago while teaching an adapted dance class. Since then, she has loved finding opportunities to build meaningful relationships, encourage independence, and support others in reaching their goals. She enjoys helping students grow in confidence while creating an environment where they feel supported, included, and empowered. After graduating, Payton plans to pursue a master's degree in occupational therapy so she can continue working alongside individuals with disabilities and help them thrive in their everyday lives.

Rose Gallardo
Rose Gallardo is a sophomore majoring in Special Education Adapted. She is from Benson, North Carolina, and is an active member of the Student Council for Exceptional Children. She is passionate about advocating for individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusion, and empowering every person to reach their full potential. Through her education and involvement, she is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
