General Education Assessment

Annual Reports

In March 2009, The University of North Carolina Wilmington Faculty Senate adopted nine UNCW Learning Goals (modified to eight learning goals in January 2011). The General Education Assessment process is based on the recommendations contained in the Report of the General Education Assessment Committee presented to the Provost and the Faculty Senate in March 2009. Each academic year, the General Education Assessment office produces an annual report containing information on general education assessment activities for that year. Based on information in that report, The Learning Assessment Council provides advice and feedback on the process, and recommendations based on the findings. You can learn more about the general methodology here.
