Welcome to the new Master of Education in Curriculum Studies for Equity in Education

The new M.Ed. in *Curriculum Studies for Equity in Education at UNCW’s Watson College of Education will provide educators with approaches to curriculum, pedagogy and learning that foster a culture of inclusion and equity in P-12 learning environments.

The program focuses on theoretical and real world issues related to curriculum studies and educational practice with courses grounded in social justice, global education, critical pedagogy and transformational praxis. It is designed to prepare classroom teachers, school administrators, teacher educators and others in a variety of educational settings to be effective leaders in curriculum and pedagogy.

Candidates will complete 30 credit hours of graduate-level courses and projects in a cohort-model program designed to accommodate working professionals.

The Master of Education in Curriculum Studies for Equity in Education offers:
