Awarded at spring graduation each year, members of the Composition Committee choose a second-year teaching assistant who, in their judgment, has made a significant contribution to student learning in teaching ENG 101 and ENG 201.

John Clifford Award for Faculty Scholarship:

Intended to stimulate collaborative scholarly projects in recognition of John Clifford's longtime efforts to foster a community of scholarship within the department. Dr. Jo Ann Seiple, former Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and former chair of the Department of English, created the award. It was first given in 2006.
