Writers' Week 2026

UNCW's Department of Creative Writing Department will bring nationally recognized writers and literary professionals to campus Nov. 9-13 for Writers’ Week 2026, a celebration of poetry, prose and the craft of creative writing.

This year’s symposium, themed “Sentience,” will center the distinctly human experiences that inspire people to write and champion storytellers. Through readings, workshops and craft talks, Writers’ Week will explore what makes creative expression uniquely human in an increasingly digital world.

All Writers’ Week events are free and open to the public; some offsite events may require registration.
