Microsessions | Bite-Size Digital Accessibility Essentials

Thursdays, 4:00 – 4:30 pm + Optional Q&A 4:30 – 4:45 pm | Zoom 

Every document, slide, video, and Canvas page we post either opens our course to a student or quietly closes it off. While we cannot fix every barrier a student may face, this series focuses on the one within our control: whether our course materials are created with digital accessibility in mind. Starting April 2028, federal law requires all university course content, including materials already posted, to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standard. Eight 30-minute sessions break that standard down into the specific habits and skills needed to meet it. An optional 15-minute Q&A will follow.

CTE Teaching Lab | Digital Accessibility Essentials in Action

Fridays, 10:30 – 11:30 am | In person

Ready to put ideas into practice? These in-person labs are designed to complement the Bite-Size Digital Accessibility Essentials Microsessions. Each lab aligns with that week's topic, beginning with a brief review of key concepts before shifting to hands-on demonstrations, guided practice, and open work time. Bring your accessibility questions, challenges, and materials to fix and experiment with, ask questions, and collaborate with colleagues on real solutions.
