Award nominations are excellent ways to highlight and celebrate the amazing faculty we have here at UNCW!
The Office of the Provost facilitates the following award processes for the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
The information below applies to nominations for the Board of Trustees Teaching Excellence Award, Distinguished Teaching Professorship, Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award, Distinguished Scholarly Engagement and Public Service Award, and Distinguished Faculty Leadership Award.
Eligibility and Nominations:
Full-time faculty members may be nominated by faculty, departmental chairs and school directors, provided the award's Eligibility Requirements are met. Self-nominations are not accepted. No award can be received more than once. Nomination letters must describe the basis for the nomination, be no longer than one page, and be submitted through InfoReady by the stated deadline. Faculty members may receive only one faculty award per academic year.
Submission Requirements:
Nominees who wish to be considered will be contacted by email and provided with instructions for submitting a single PDF file containing: (1) a cover letter of up to five pages addressing materials relevant to the award's Criteria for Nomination and Selection, and (2) a current curriculum vitae.
Award Details:
Each Provost Award recipient receives a medallion and a stipend. Awardees are celebrated after the Spring Faculty Meeting.

- Portfolios due: January 15
