UNCW Celebrates Faculty Academic Career Milestone Achievements

The university recognized 135 faculty members from across all colleges and the library at the Waves of Distinction Celebration on Sept. 10. The celebrated faculty met rigorous standards to achieve promotion, tenure or post-tenure review during the 2025-26 academic year, including:

• Promotions to: senior lecturer, principal lecturer, clinical associate professor, clinical professor, associate librarian, librarian, associate professor, professor
• Awards of tenure
• Posthumous promotion to associate professor
• Successful post-tenure review

These faculty academic career milestone achievements represent years of meaningful and significant contributions to a faculty member’s discipline, including teaching, scholarship, research, service and leadership. The distinctions recognize faculty members' intensive work, sustained excellence and commitment, and their impact on students, their disciplines and the broader community.
