Eligible individuals who elect to participate in the Program relinquish tenure and separate from their current full-time position. In return, the University contracts with approved participants for half-time (or equivalent) service for a period of three years.
Participation in the Program is subject to approval by the department chair, dean, and provost and is not guaranteed. Applications will be reviewed by the department chair, dean, and provost. Final decisions will be communicated following completion of the review and approval process.
Consistent with applicable law and University policy, assigned duties may be modified during participation in the Program based on departmental needs and operational requirements.
Participation in the Program is voluntary. Faculty members considering participation are encouraged to review all program materials carefully and consult with their personal legal, financial, and retirement advisors before making a decision.
