We are excited to welcome new team members and celebrate a new beginning within Information Technology Services. Get to know them and the experience and expertise they bring to our team.

Josie Banner, Technical Classroom Support Analyst

Josie Banner joins ITS as a Technical Classroom Support Analyst, bringing previous experience as a Call Center Associate and Distance Education Technician. A UNCW graduate with a B.A. in Film Studies, Josie is excited to return to her alma mater and support classroom technology across campus. She combines her artistic perspective with a fascination for technology and complex systems to approach technical challenges in creative and thoughtful ways.

Devin DiMattia, Senior Technical Classroom Support Analyst

Devin DiMattia has recently been hired into a new role with ITS as a Senior Technical Classroom Support Analyst. A 2008 UNCW graduate with a B.A. in Film Studies, Devin joined ITS as a Classroom Support Analyst in 2023. Since then, he has earned his Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification and received a nomination for the UNCW Staff Award for Excellence. In his new role, Devin brings his continued experience and expertise to supporting classroom technology across UNCW.

Sam Hastings, TAC Support Technician

Sam Hastings joins the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) with more than 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. His background includes mobile device support, distributed applications and network connectivity. Sam brings a customer-focused approach and a passion for making technology simple and accessible for the UNCW community.

Neil Stewart, Netcom Services Technician

Neil Stewart joins the Networks team as a Netcom Services Technician, bringing a strong background in network infrastructure, communications systems and technical support from his previous role with New Hanover County Schools. In his new role, Neil will focus primarily on phone deployment and network infrastructure, supporting several major technology and infrastructure initiatives underway across the university.
