Nancy Murdock

Nancy Murdock is a dedicated and highly motivated certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an earned Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, she has worked both as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She is passionate about health promotion, and hormone optimization. Additionally, she is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). Her bedside nursing background includes experience in Critical Care, Labor and Delivery and newborn care. At UNCW she has taught across several nursing programs. These programs include prelicensure, RN/BSN, and graduate programs which include the Nurse Educator and DNP/FNP programs. She has served in the past as a mentor to nurses and students in the past and still practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Research Interests

Nancy's research interests include hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) as people age and the aging population. As an Acute Care CNS her specialty included cardiology. Her DNP project was entitled Impact of Pharmacogenomics on Prescriptive Practices in Rural Health. She has been involved with several grants in both the University and Hospital settings.

Professional Service

Serves the community as an American Heart CPR instructor and as a provider in rural communities in North Carolina as an FNP.

Community Engagement

She is an American Heart Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor. She provides care to patients as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
