Withdrawal & Credit Schedules

A reduction in hours after drop/add does not reduce the tuition charges on your account. Students who choose to withdraw from a class after the drop/add date will not receive an adjustment of the tuition and fees unless they are completely withdrawing from all classes. Students should consult the Withdrawal Credit Schedule for percentages.

Withdrawal Tuition and Fee Credit Schedule

Tuition and fees refund for complete withdrawals from the university are prorated based on the schedule below. No refund is made for official withdrawals after 60 percent of the enrollment period. No refunds are available for Summer Session withdrawals. If you are withdrawing from all course please visit Leaving UNCW for more information.

Official withdrawal procedures begin with your Academic Advisor or the Registrar's Office for Undergraduates, and the Graduate School for Graduate Students. No refunds will be issued after October 21; the first 60% of the enrollment period. Room and board refunds are pro-rated differently; if applicable, see Housing and/or Business Services.

  • October 19 through October 21 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • October 22 through October 23: 50% of credit
  • October 24 and after: 0% of credit

Spring 2027 AP 3 - First day of class January 11

  • January 11 through January 13 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • January 14 through January 15: 50% of credit
  • January 16 and after: 0% of credit

Spring 2027 AP 4 - First day of class March 08

  • March 8 through March 10 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • March 11 through March 12: 50% of credit
  • March 13 and after: 0% of credit

Summer 2027 AP 5 - First day of class May 10

  • May 10 through May 12 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • May 13 through May 14: 50% of credit
  • May 15 and after: 0% of credit

Summer 2027 AP 6 - First day of class June 28

  • June 28 through June 30 (Add/Drop): 100% of credit
  • July 1 through July 2: 50% of credit
  • July 3 and after: 0% of credit
