Shuttle Bus Service to/from NHRMC

A new shuttle bus service has been implemented this semester to transport both clinical faculty and students to the NHRMC campus for their respective scheduled clinical rotations.  This is to comply with NHRMC parking restrictions designed to alleviate parking shortages.  A new parking deck located directly across from the Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital is currently under construction.  The shuttle service will be operating until further notice is given.

In Memory:  Jerre Garnett, Prelicensure Instructor

JerreIt is with great sadness that SON faculty bid farewell to part-time faculty member Jerre Garnett, who died suddenly June 18th.   Garnett led prelicensure clinical students in mental health nursing for nearly two decades.   She instructed students in their clinical rotations at The Behavioral Health Hospital (formally The Oaks), Wilmington Treatment Center, Brynn Marr Hospital and a variety of other clinical sites serving individuals with mental illness in the community.   Garnett was a member of the American Nursing Association, the NC Nursing Association and Sigma Theta Tau International. She was passionate about mental health nursing care and teaching students.  As a colleague, she was a joy with whom to work and will be greatly missed.
