The Community College Teaching in Early Childhood Certificate is designed for early childhood professionals who would like to teach at the community college level. Successful completion of courses offered will meet the requirement of teaching faculty in the Early Childhood Education program at North Carolina Community Colleges.
Candidates will complete 18 credit hours of graduate level courses, which are offered online to accommodate working professionals. Courses will prepare you to effectively share your knowledge with others in early childhood programs, and lead early childhood professionals to improve the quality of teaching in early childhood programs.
Students currently in the M.Ed. in Leadership, Advocacy, and Policy in Early Childhood may take these courses as part of their degree program. In addition, the program is valuable for early childhood professionals who already hold a master’s degree in early childhood or a related field, and would like to teach in a community college educator preparation program.
