Climbing Information
Indoor rock climbing is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide. It is an incredible experience that helps you develop a stronger mind and body. Visit the climbing wall to try something new, experience a full-body workout, test your strength and endurance, or develop your climbing skills. For all Climbing Wall policies, please visit our Guidelines page.
Top Rope Climbing
The most recognized type of climbing, which utilizes ropes to ascend the wall. Our attendants are trained in how to belay and will help you get to the top!
Bouldering
Bouldering is a type of rock climbing that is done on short climbing walls or outdoors on boulders. The main difference between bouldering and top rope climbing is that bouldering does not require the use of ropes or extra equipment. Our bouldering height is limited up to the teal line marked on the wall.
Equipment
We provide free climbing equipment rentals that you would need to get started, including shoes, chalk, harnesses, belay devices, and helmet. We allow the use of personal shoes, harnesses, and chalk bags.
Belaying
Belaying is the act of controlling the amount of rope a climber has while they are climbing. Individuals wanting to belay at the climbing wall must retest annually. Belay devices are available to any climber who has successfully completed a belay clinic and passed a belay test at our wall. Additional belaying may be provided by the Climbing Wall Attendants.
Belay Clinics
Learning how to belay safely is one of the most important skills anyone can learn when it comes to climbing. Whether you’re new to climbing or already know how to belay, come to one of our clinics and learn the skills required to safely belay in our facility. For more information on Belay Clinics, please visit our Clinics & Workshops page.
Belay Tests
To be approved to belay in our facility you must pass a belay test. We recommend that anyone requesting a test register for one of our belay clinics. Belay tests can be requested during open top rope hours.
Those that have previously taken the belay clinic or have experience belaying outside of our facility may challenge a belay test. A challenge does not require taking the belay clinic. Anyone challenging must pass the belay test without any errors or will be required to attend a belay clinic prior to taking a belay test again.
