Sea Water Systems
Raw sea water from the Intracoastal Waterway is pumped 24 hours a day, 365 days a year into the Center for Marine Science's sea water storage tanks. These tanks provide the center with enough sea water to distribute throughout the building and for processing into medium and high quality sea water.
The mission of the sea water systems team is to provide the UNCW Center for Marine Science with the highest quality seawater as is possible. The team understands the importance of having a quality level of seawater flowing throughout the building, and that is why every feasible step is taken to ensure that the quality of the seawater pumped from the Intracoastal Waterway is at an optimal level for the needs of the Center for Marine Science.
