$.15 each - Vending copies – if paying with cash

4. How do I make copies?

Online machines – Insert card into card swipe
Offline machines – Once copier is turned on (and access number entered, if applicable), it is ready to use

5. How do we pay for copies?

At the end of each month, reports are run by the copier program office to identify the number of copies made per card. Departments are billed for this amount through Banner.

6. How do we get paper for the copier?

The key operator should e-mail the copier program office at copiers@uncw.edu to request paper. The e-mail should include all the below information:

7. Can I use colored paper?

Yes, it’s okay to use colored paper in the machine. We recommend keeping any paper for use in the copier sealed to avoid excess moisture absorption.

8. How do we get toner for the copier?

The key operator should e-mail the copier program office at copiers@uncw.edu to request toner. Be sure to include the UW ____ number of the copier.

9. How do we recycle empty toner copier bottles?

Plastic toner bottles can be placed in any recycle bin on campus that is marked ‘Plastic Bottles’.

10. What if I can’t read the copier operation panel?

All copier screens have a contrast adjustment, which is usually a dial on the control panel marked ‘Contrast’ or a sliding button on the right side of the copier.

11. What if the card reader screen goes blank?

Unplugging the black electrical cord from the outlet for several seconds and plugging back in will reset the reader screen most of the time.

12. What if the card reader says PWR, PWR FL, etc?

Unplugging the black electrical cord from the outlet for several seconds and plugging back in will reset the reader screen most of the time.

13. What if there is a line on my copies?

Does the line show up when you put originals through the document feeder or place on the glass? If this happens only when you use the document feeder, it’s likely caused by dirt or a smudge from the scan glass. Try cleaning the glass, giving extra attention to any smaller, secondary glass.

14. How do I get a copy card?

Your budget authority should e-mail the request to the copier program at copiers@uncw.edu. Include the fund number and whether this is an additional card on an existing copy account or a new copy account entirely.

15. How do I get copy privilege on my UNCW One Card?

Your budget authority should e-mail the request to the copier program at copiers@uncw.edu. Include the fund number and whether this is in addition to an existing copy account or a new copy account entirely.

16. What if my card won’t work?

What happens when you slide your card? Does the reader give any sort of message? Does the card activate the reader but not the copier? Try to determine if the problem is with the card or the card reader by trying your card in a different card reader. Contact the copier program at copiers@uncw.edu with your findings, and we’ll take it from there.
