Information for current and potential Cameron Executive Network (CEN) Mentors. CEN connects local professionals to CSB students as mentors and advisors.
Get Involved
Qualified mentor applicants should:
- Be able to provide an up-to-date resume
- Have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of recent managerial or leadership experience in a business environment
- Have prior mentoring experience with employees and/or students
- Once matched, be willing to mentor student(s) until graduation
- Be able to meet with student(s) in person 1 to 2 times a month
Expectations
As part of that work, each mentoring executive member is expected to:
- Attend the "mixer" for meeting and pairing with prospective students.
- Meet with your assigned student(s) within two weeks after the assignment is made.
- Meet with your assigned student(s) at least 1-2 times a month during the school year.
- Coach your student(s) in their efforts to meet the expectations for student members.
- If your assigned student has interests in subjects outside your expertise, lead your student to get the expertise needed by networking with other executive members or experts outside the Network.
- Guide your student in developing an effective job search plan and resume.
- Attend planned events of CEN and ensure your mentee is aware of CEN events.
