Aquatics Events

Challenge yourself on our inflatable WIBIT obstacle course during select weekends Friday – Sunday throughout the year. Participants can test their balance, agility, and endurance while navigating a series of exciting obstacles across the pool. Whether you're racing friends or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, WIBIT Weekends provide a unique aquatic experience that brings excitement and friendly competition to the pool.  

WIBIT Dates:  

  • Friday, September 18th – Sunday, September 20th  
  • Friday, October 16th – Sunday, October 18th 
  • Friday, November 13th – Sunday, November 15th 

Current UNCW students are invited to participate in free group swim lessons designed to help improve swimming ability and build confidence in the water. Swim instructors will lead each session based on participants' comfort levels and experience and can provide feedback on any swimming skills participants would like to improve. 

Participation is limited to a maximum of six swimmers per session and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register by visiting our Free Group Swim Lessons online store.

Free Group Swim Lessons will be held from 5:00–6:00 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Wed. Sept. 9th  
  • Wed. Sept. 23rd  
  • Wed. Oct. 7th  
  • Wed. Oct. 21st  
  • Wed. Nov. 4th 
  • Wed. Nov. 18th 

Take your workout to the water with a variety of aquatic-based group fitness classes offered throughout the year. Class offerings may include formats such as yoga on the pool deck, GlideFit, cardio and strength-based workouts, and other specialty fitness experiences designed to keep participants active and engaged. 

Aquatic group fitness classes provide a fun, low-impact environment that promotes wellness, movement, and community for participants of all fitness levels.

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday: 6 a.m. - 8 a.m. & 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.  
Sunday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. & 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

Patio Deck Hours: 

Monday-Sunday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. 

Outdoor Pool (April – September Academic Session) Hours: 

Monday-Sunday: 10a.m. – 6 p.m.
