Help with Navigating mySeaport

1098T Tax Form Information

The Form 1098-T contains data to help you calculate your eligibility for higher education-related tax deductions or credits on your personal income tax return. These forms are provided by the Student Accounts and Cashiers Office. For questions related to those, please email them at studentaccounts@uncw.edu

Accepting and Declining Financial Aid

Financial Aid Offers are displayed for students within the Financial Aid section of mySeaport. Students can select the Aid Year they desire on the "Home" tab, and then navigate to the "Offer" tab to view their aid information. In addition to the student's aid offer information for the year, this tab also includes cost of attendance information.

Scholarships & Grants are automatically accepted, no action is needed
Loans and Federal Work Study must be accepted, adjusted or declined

Checking Notifications

Notifications from the Financial Aid Office regarding outstanding financial aid requirements are displayed for students within the Financial Aid section of mySeaport on the "Notifications" tab. If you have an incomplete requirement, or there are other status messages to share, they will appear on this tab.

Checking Student Requirements

Outstanding Financial Aid Requirements are displayed for students on the "Home" tab of the Financial Aid section of mySeaport. Requirements will be listed with detail on what is needed to complete them, and also show the status for the requirement, such as "Received - Pending Review", "Satisfied", "Incomplete". Please allow 2-3 business days for requirement statuses to be updated once documents have been submitted.

Financial Aid Fund Terms & Conditions

Financial Aid Fund Terms & Conditions will appear on the "Aid Details" tab of the Financial Aid section of mySeaport. Here students will find terms & conditions which apply to financial aid funds they have been offered.

Title IV Authorization Instructions

If Title IV Authorization needs to be completed, students will be prompted to complete this process when they visit the "Home" tab of the Financial Aid section of mySeaport. If authorization needs to be provided, students will be prompted with Response Required - Questions from the Financial Aid Office, which has two Title IV Authorization Questions for review and response.

Here are some how-to videos for accessing your financial aid portal, to completing entrance counseling and master promissory notes.

In addition, we encourage you to use our FATV Service! This free service can be used to find short videos that provide answers to general financial aid information. The content on our FATV page provides an array of media content and we encourage you to browse our video library for more information.
