"UNCW’s most important asset is its people, and this plan focuses fully on the continued success of our students, faculty and staff ... from enhanced academic advising, career readiness opportunities and support for cutting-edge academic programs and research endeavors to elevated investments in workplace services, campus infrastructure and community engagement, this plan outlines our commitment to transforming Seahawks’ lives and this region, now and in the years to come."

UNCW 2024 Campus Master Plan principles

  • Expand access to student support outside of the classroom
  • Provide areas for faculty/staff engagement
  • Promote equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility to enhance quality of campus life

Strengthen the impact of academic programs, research and partnerships at multiple scales

Improve arts and athletics programs and the visitor experience

  • Maximize utilization of existing campus space
  • Enhance program synergies and adjacencies
  • Plan for resilient stewardship of physical, financial and natural campus assets
  • Improve circulation, open space network and wayfinding
  • Create intentional campus spaces/places that promote interaction, connection with nature and cross-pollination of people, culture and ideas
