"Results Leadership" 2-Day Workshop

April 30th and May 1st

at Shell Island Resort, Wrightsville Beach, NC

How Nonprofit Executive Directors choose to think, feel, and act has a significant impact on the achievements of their organizations. Nationally recognized “Outcomes Guide” Hal Williams, author of Outcomes Funding, places leaders into two categories: Results Leaders and the Other Kind.

Program’s Learning Objectives:


1. Learn a set of tools to help leaders to better define, track, verify, and report success for those they serve by taking those steps that promote results in their organizations.
2. Identify tools and approaches that go beyond simply knowing outcomes to increasing them through leadership.
3. Participants will develop a personal leadership plan during the session in partnership with their senior management staff and/or board leadership. See registration page for additional details!!

Mission

The Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations (QENO) is a partnership between UNCW, funders, civic leaders and other community organizations to help build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and increase philanthropy in southeastern North Carolina.

  • Professional workshops
  • Board development
  • Organizational assessment and consulting
  • Facilitation of community dialogue (round table discussions, listserv, etc.)

Results

In 2010 ...

  • Hosted 25 professional development workshops for 233 organizations in nine southeastern NC counties. Curriculum oversight by Laurie Paarlberg, public and international affairs, and other UNCW scholars and community leaders resulted in an average quality seminar rating of 4.63 out of a possible five-point scale.
  • 72 nonprofit board leaders attended board governance training sessions. Another 91 citizens participated in learning about the joys and challenges of effective board membership, which resulted in five connections to nonprofit boards.
  • 125 nonprofit directors attended at least three of the monthly QENO Roundtable Learning and Networking sessions.
  • 7 student graduate interns completed projects for nonprofit organizations, including marketing plan, volunteer management, asset mapping, database development, succession plan, grant management system, marketing deliverables, and website development.
