Gift Processing by Advancement Services
Advancement Services supports the operations of University Advancement by receipting gifts to the university, maintaining the alumni and donor database, conducting donor research and assisting campus-wide university departments.
Advancement Services also protects fundamental rights to privacy and confidentiality and is committed to the ethical collection and use of information. We follow all CASE, federal, state, and local laws as well as university policies governing the collection, use, maintenance, and dissemination of information.
North Carolina law requires university departments to deposit gifts of checks or cash daily when they equal or exceed $250 or weekly if under $250. Checks and cash should be hand delivered to University Advancement, Advancement Services in King Hall 209 to be deposited.
North Carolina General Statute 147-77, Daily deposit of funds to credit of Treasurer, and UNCW Policy 05.141, Departmental Funds Receipting, require any employee or department collecting funds to deposit the funds at least weekly. In addition, funds are required to be deposited daily when they equal or exceed $250.
