Andi Steele is a site-specific installation artist. In her work, she seeks to bring attention to the space that surrounds us; how we use it, how it can be altered, challenging our spatial perceptions. To achieve this shift in spatial awareness, she creates site-specific installations using lines of monofilament that cut through spaces, re-interpreting how they are viewed and/or used.

Steele has exhibited these installations throughout the Southeast, most notably at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in Atlanta. Recent exhibitions include Sculpture 2009 The North Carolina Sculpture Consortium, Gray Gallery, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, 2009; Untitled, Dalton Gallery, Center for the Arts, Rock Hill, South Carolina, 2008 (solo); Sculpture Derivatives, A National Invitational, University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, 2008; Aerial Intersect, Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, Virginia, 2007 (solo); Obstructed Semblance, Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, Augusta, Georgia, 2007 (solo).
