Andi Steele: Place
February 24–April 7, 2011
Andi Steele’s work focuses on spatial awareness; how we experience our surroundings and how subtle changes can affect these interactions. In the past, she has divided existing spaces, altering how they were perceived and used. In the new installation, Place, she takes this idea a step further. She divides a large space, but in doing so creates small places. These places, constructed by stringing lines of monofilament, can be entered and experienced individually. Selecting a place to be affects how the rest of the installation is viewed and how others view you.
