University Union Permanent Art Collection
The purpose of the University Union Permanent Art Collection is to increase artistic appreciation and enjoyment of the Union by the members of the University community. It also expands interests and understanding across a broad range of cultural and social backgrounds, promotes aesthetic and cultural development opportunities for students, and integrates art into the daily living environment of the University Union.
The collection includes, but is not limited to, ceramics, photography, sculpture, painting, screen prints, and drawings. The University Union Permanent Collection can be found on display throughout the meeting rooms and lounge spaces within the Campus Life facilities: Fisher University Union, Fisher Student Center, Warwick Center and Burney Center.
Each year the All Student Show, an annual juried student exhibition, awards a Purchase Award for the Best of Show. This student piece then becomes part of the permanent collection. The Friends of UNCW have provided generous funding for a number of these purchase awards..
Please enjoy the slide show of our collection; we hope you will be inspired to view the collection in person throughout the Campus Life facilities.
