The vice chancellor for university advancement is responsible
for the overall advancement of the university and development of private
funds to support its mission.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the cultivation and stewardship of corporations, foundations
and private donors to support the growing financial needs of the university.
- Organize, direct and participate in activities that will promote
the prestige of the university to outside constituents. Strive to enhance
the relationships and communications with all parties who either directly
or indirectly affect the success of the university.
- Direct and supervise the administration of the following departments:
advancement research, advancement services, alumni relations, annual
giving, development and special events.
- Provide oversight for volunteer leadership boards including the board
of visitors, the foundation board, the Seahawk Club and the alumni association.
- Recruit and provide for the selection, organization and supervision
of staff and delegate specific responsibilities to assure efficient
and productive operation of all administrative, business and fiscal
activities of the department.
- Set forth the division's funding requirements and supervise the overall
management and control of the approved fiscal year operating budget.
- Serve on committees both on and off campus that support advancement
efforts.
The vice chancellor for university advancement reports
directly to the chancellor and directly supervises senior associate vice
chancellor, assistant vice chancellor for development, assistant to the
vice chancellor, budget officer, administrative support staff, special
events director and alumni relations executive director.
