Dr. Hana Noor Al-Deen holds the academic rank of Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at UNCW where she has been teaching since 1985. She teaches new digital multimedia, advertising, and intercultural/international communication.
Dr. Noor Al-Deen earned her Ph.D. in 1988 from SUNY-Buffalo, her two master degrees are from CSU-Sacramento, and she acquired post-doctoral work in digital multimedia from both Stanford University and University of Central Oklahoma.
Her international communication research focuses on the Middle East and North Africa while her work has appeared in more than 50 academic publications and presentations at the international, national, and regional levels. She served the SSCA in various elected positions over 6 years.
Besides membership in academic professional societies, she is an active member of numerous animal rights organizations. Dr. Noor Al-Deen lives with her husband and two precious dogs.
