PCOM Advising

Advising sessions for pre-registration are generally as follows.

• Spring pre-registration: mid to late October
• Summer and Fall pre-registration: end of March to early April

PCOM students will be notified by e-mail with the exact dates and times for PCOM advising. Instructions for their advising session will be provided in that e-mail or they can be viewed by clicking the following link; PCOM Advising Letter. PCOM students will be advised on a first come first serve basis, based upon the number of hours earned toward graduation, this schedule will be provided in the PCOM Advising Letter. Earned hours are listed in your degree audit under the University Requirements and Limitations section.

What to Bring

Students are required to bring the following materials in order to be advised:

• Degree Audit
• Proposed Course Schedule (consult "Search for Courses" on SeaNet prior to making your schedule)
• Alternate Course Schedule (select at least two alternate courses for your schedule)

Please follow these directions to retrieve your degree audit;*

1. www.uncw.edu --> Current Students --> SeaNet
2. Secure Log-In --> Student Services --> Student Records --> Degree Audit --> Submit Audit
3. Choose “List All Requirements.” Do NOT choose incomplete requirements only or
   complete requirements only
4. Run Audit --> View Submitted Audits
5. Choose most recent audit
6. View Printer Friendly Audit
7. Print

* If you are having trouble printing your printer friendly degree audit turn off the pop-up blocker on your web browser and try again.

Haven't Applied for Entrance into the COM Program?

If you do not complete an application prior to PCOM advising you will not be provided with your alternate pin and therefore you will be unable to register for classes. You will be notified in the months prior to advising to apply, so apply as soon as possible. Currently Enrolled in COM 200?

If you are currently enrolled in COM 200 you cannot pre-register for most classes restricted to COM majors only. If you earn a "B" or better in COM 200 your status will change from PCOM to COM in May and you can attempt to register for COM majors only courses at that time. If you do not pass COM 200 with a "B" or better you cannot register for COM majors only courses.
