From his embed with US Marines Echo Company in Afghanistan, photojournalist and filmmaker Danfung Dennis reveals the devastating impact a Taliban machine-gun bullet has on the life of 25-year-old Sergeant Nathan Harris. The film seamlessly transitions from stunning war reportage to an intimate, visceral portrait of one man's personal struggle at home in North Carolina, where Harris confronts the physical and emotional difficulties of re-adjusting to civilian life with the love and support of his wife, Ashley.

About the event and its sponsors:
Every year, Disability Services brings a film to campus for the education of our students and the campus community. In collaboration with Seahawk Perch, UNCW Student Veterans Organization, the Counseling Center, and Office for Diversity and Inclusion - a public showing of the documentary Hell and Back Again will be held and then followed with a panel discussion for educational purposes. The event is scheduled in Lumina Theater and will be open to the UNCW community and general public. Admission is free. Co-sponsors for the event are the UNCW Film Studies Department, UNCW School of Social Work, UNCW Military Task Force, Student Affairs Professional Development Committee, Student Affairs Diversity Committee, Campus Activites and Involvement Center, and the Association for Campus Entertainment.
