The B.A. degree provides a broad, flexible program to meet personal educational goals and interests that include future technical or teaching careers.
Because geology continues to become more integrative, technical and global in its approach, both the B.A. and B.S. degree programs encourage students to develop basic proficiencies in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology, and effective oral and written communication skills including computer literacy.
Requirements for a Major in Geology for the B.A. degree: Catalogue Year 2006-2007 49-52 hours. Core requirements: GLY 101 or 120 (with GLYL 120), 135 or 150, 171,172, 201, 310, 489, 495, CHM 101, MAT 111-112 or 115 or 161.
