Faculty Advisor Expectations
- Provide Accurate Information.
- Meet with students during each pre-registration period for pre-registration advising (Fall & Spring).
- Be available on an as needed basis for support.
- Respond to student inquiries about tracking their progress towards graduation.
- Assist students with reading degree audits.
- Clarify concentration requirements for elementary and middle grades students.
- Submit appropriate subs/waivers as necessary.
- Refer students to appropriate Watson Resources (Website, Intern Coordinator, Lead Advisor, Ed Lab etc.).
- Seek support for advising from your faculty mentor or your department chair.
- Be familiar with UNCW resources and refer students to them as necessary.
Resources include: Counseling Resources, Learning Center, Library, CARE, Career Resources, Student Health Center, Crossroads, etc.
